Grade: 12
Redondo Union High School PTSA (Thirty-Third District)
“I am an 18-year-old person who has Autism. Even when I feel alone or uncomfortable like a jellyfish in outer space, I know I belong wherever I am. As I learn to value my differences… I belong just by being me.”

Title: Hold My Hand
Grade: K
Lunada Bay Elementary PTA (Thirty-Third District)
The photo is of my families hands. it is my mommy, my daddy, my sister and my brother. My hand is in the front and it makes me feel like I belong.

Title: The Galaxy of Us
Grade: 4
Hidden Hills PTA (Thirty-Second District)
This picture shows my hand and my mom’s hand together. The way our hands are joined makes a shape that looks like a galaxy. When I see it, I think about how big the world is, with so many stars and people. Even though there are so many places to go, I know exactly where I belong — with my mom. Her hand makes me feel safe, warm, and loved. It reminds me that no matter how far I travel or how much I grow, I will always be part of her galaxy.

Title: Then and Now, I Belong
Grade: 8
Twin Peaks Middle School PTSA (Ninth District PTA)
My 82 year old Grandpa is an Air Force veteran who worked as a B-52 mechanic. When he was young, he was strong and proud to serve his country. Now, after eight strokes, he can no longer speak, and people sometimes overlook or get irritated with him. To our family, he is still a hero. This photograph shows the reflection of who he was and who he is today. It reminds me that everyone, no matter their age or ability, still has value. My Grandfather still belongs in this world, surrounded by love, memories, and the respect he has earned.

Title: The Light of Connection
Grade: 10
Canyon High School PTSA (Fourth District)
“While the feeling of belonging was my deepest desire, it was one that demanded vulnerability. The solitary figure, enveloped in shadows, represents the self-imposed restrictions that once kept me isolated and unseen. The outstretched hand from a lighter space represents a vital lifeline, an invitation to accept the beauty of my hidden self. The illuminated border brings me hope that despite the darkness, the promise of belonging is real, and the light of connection is waiting to guide me out of the shadows.”
