ARTS EDUCATION DATA PROGRAM HELPS ADVOCACY EFFORTS

artsed_dataproject_web

Up until now, we lacked the tools to show us where and how arts education is offered (or isn’t offered) across the state.

That’s why Create CA and the California Department of Education joined forces to launch the California Arts Education Data Project. This suite of powerful tools allows users to analyze data on arts education enrollment and courses for the entire state of California, for grades 6 through 12.

Through the interactive, color-coded Arts Data Interactive Dashboard, arts participation can be viewed by school, district, county or statewide. Data has been added annually since 2014, which also allows users to view progress over time.

By analyzing this important information, parents can see what’s happening in their child’s school, see how his or her school compares to others in the district, and learn how their district compares to others in the state. It’s a great resource for those who want to be truly well-informed arts advocates committed to increasing participation in arts education.

Review the data and share the following resources!
