What are the innovative activities your PTA/PTSA is focusing on this year? California State PTA would like to put your PTA’s great programs and advocacy work into the Spotlight! Whether it’s advocacy and family engagement, DEI and communication, or student involvement and leadership development, we want to hear about it! Your Councils and PTA/PTSA units can be recognized for the work you have planned to carry out this year.
PTA units and councils can apply for an award in the following categories:
- Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of all children at the school, community, state, and national level.
- Collaboration: Develop strong partnerships in order to connect individuals, enhance student learning, assist schools and families, and involve community stakeholders.
- Communication: Maintain effective and open communication with members.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Adopt programs and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Environmental: Promote conservation and environmental awareness on campus.
- Family Engagement: Promote student success with family engagement in students’ education.
- Membership and Outreach: Increase membership while raising awareness of PTA’s mission and the value of membership that involves all stakeholders.
- Student Achievement: Implement programs to support student achievement.
- Student Involvement: Increase student involvement and participation in all aspects of PTA
- Leadership Development Awards: Only PTA councils can apply for Leadership Development Awards for boosting leadership capacity and development to ensure long-term growth and enhance a PTA’s effectiveness.
Winners of the 2025 Spotlight Awards will receive the following recognition and prizes:
- $100 California State PTA grant
- Special recognition at the California State PTA Convention
