What is Just Between Friends?

Just Between Friends is the official PTA communications and membership management system. The online system was developed to help PTAs efficiently communicate with their school community; earn revenue for their unit; and manage membership. The system also helps parents to manage their hectic lives by providing them with tools to easily access and organize their family's activities.

Communicate with your Entire School

With Just Between Friends, units can communicate effectively with your entire school. Using the system, units have the ability to attach files of the most popular formats to their emails; create sub-groups; and automatically send reminders.

When a PTA leader sends out an email announcing an event or deadline, those events or deadlines will automatically appear on the household calendar. If the family has children in multiple schools or if parents are members of multiple PTAs, the system will consolidate those events and deadlines into a single customizable calendar. The person responsible for communications should know how easy it is to use Just Between Friends.

Earn Revenue

Your unit can earn revenue for each school semester from Just Between Friends' family-friendly sponsors. To be eligible, your unit must have one parent in at least 20% of the households in your community go through the Just Between Friends household Startup Wizard. You can start communicating with households by email as soon as you enter their email address into the system. Then, when parents go through the household Startup Wizard, they'll have a Just Between Friends household account, begin to enjoy the system's tools to manage their hectic lives and count towards the 20% for you unit to be eligible for revenue share.

Communicate with the households in your group at least 10 times during the semester to enjoy revenue share. If you communicate at least 10 times in the semester to 50% of the households in your community, you double your revenue share. The number of dollars depends on how much revenue is derived from Just Between Friends' family-friendly sponsors.

There are two Just Between Friends revenue share periods: Fall (July – December) and Spring (January – June). Eligible units receive their Fall checks in February and their Spring checks in August.

Manage Members

It's simple to use Just Between Friends to manage members. Administrators can add members or have parents enter or update their own information. The system makes membership renewal and tracking easy. Be sure to get your Membership Chair involved.

Print Membership Cards

The Just Between Friends membership card template enables units to easily print member names, unit name, Unique National ID # number, and expiration date onto PTA membership cards.

Recruit and Manage Volunteers

Using Just Between Friends, units are able to recruit, manage and report group volunteer activities. Admins can post the hours members promised to a project and then keep track of their actual hours spent. Or, members can post their own anticipated and actual volunteer hours. This makes it easy for admins and members to keep track of their group volunteer efforts. This module is suitable for tracking and reporting Three for Me hours.

Create Directories

With Just Between Friends, units have the option of creating paper directories using the system's newly enhanced automated capabilities or secure online directories with powerful search capabilities. The online directories allow for multiple last names in the same family; multiple contact phone numbers and multiple email addresses.
