SACRAMENTO – Numerous communities in Texas and the surrounding areas have been desolated by the effects of Hurricane Harvey. In the next days, weeks and months, families will begin to rebuild their homes, return to work, and students will head back to school.
PTA strives to support these communities devastated by the storm and demonstrate the commitment to speak as one voice for all children, especially during times of unprecedented adversity.
California State PTA President Dianna MacDonald issued the following statement:
“We extend our deepest sympathies to all the children, families and communities that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. As Texas and the surrounding regions rebuild their communities, we will support their efforts in any way that we can.”
PTA will be working closely with school districts to provide the important supplies for students and teachers to be ready to learn on the first day in the classroom. Specifically, Texas PTA is coordinating assistance to students and classrooms impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
