SACRAMENTO – Southern California is fighting devastating wildfires in the greater Los Angeles region, which have shut down highways, schools and businesses and forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes. California State PTA President Dianna MacDonald issued the following statement:
“California State PTA is extremely concerned for the families impacted by the devastating wildfires raging in Southern California.
“As the president of a statewide organization, everyone who calls California “home” is my neighbor, and my thoughts are with all those who have been affected. They are our families, friends, colleagues, volunteers and members and we remain steadfast in our commitment to support them as they rebuild and recover.
“California State PTA urges everyone in Southern California to visit Cal Fire’s Ready for Wildfire online resource to be prepared for wildfire before, during and after it affects your area. Learn more at www.readyforwildfire.org.
“PTA leaders and members donate countless hours of hard work every day to give our children and school communities what they need to be successful. Our mission becomes that much more important during times of crisis.”
